Excellent in all techniques: the contrast
Brilliant, high-contrast images are the visible result of the newly computed reflected-light beam path of the Axio Scope.
The time-tested ICS optics ensure consistent minimization of disturbing stray light. Decisive for achieving outstanding contrast.
Available to you for higher demands: a retrofittable achromatic correction lens system which raises the optical quality of Axio Scope to the high ICēS level (Infinity Color & Contrast Corrected System). Unique in this class.
Contrasting Methods
Amazing variety: the contrasting techniques
Unique in this class: the wide variety of reflective and transmitted light techniques provided by Axio Scope. Tailored to your tasks in routine and research.
The most important contrasting techniques include:

Darker: the darkfield
The high quality of the newly designed reflected-light beam path is reflected in the major enhancement of darkfield contrast. Thanks to minimized stray light, this darkfield can cope with even the most intricate samples. You'll be captivated by a homogeneously black background. And you'll be amazed by even the finest structures you can see.
Ideal for oriented structures: C-DIC
With circularly polarized light: In C-DIC, you no longer need to rotate the sample in the azimuth, but simply turn the knurled ring of the DIC slider to visualize all object details one after the other. Continuously and related to the object.
You can set any required shear direction for each oriented structure, i.e. both high contrast and high resolution can be achieved with a DIC prism.
Color-neutral variety: the polarizers
Polarizers from Carl Zeiss in different performance classes offer a high degree of polarization.
They are color-neutral in the visible spectral range and therefore ideal for brilliant images and precise measurements in compliance with standards.
Affordable excellence: PlasDIC
This is the first DIC version that generates polarization-optical DIC in transmitted light with good quality – even if the object, the slide, the condenser or the objective display an anisotropic character.
